Arabic-first, right-to-left by design

Stop running your clinic out of a notebook and a phone.

Mawid Desk gives an independent practice the front desk it never had time to staff: online booking patients reach by link, automatic WhatsApp and SMS reminders, and a patient chart that isn't a stack of notebooks.

The honest version

Hospital software was never built for a two-room practice.

Independent clinics run on paper diaries and WhatsApp — not because the doctor prefers it, but because the alternative is priced and scoped for institutions. So the practice absorbs the cost instead: in missed appointments, in scattered history, and in the doctor answering scheduling messages between consultations.

Mawid Desk starts from the other end. One practitioner, one afternoon, no IT department.

  • The diary lives on one desk

If the notebook is at the clinic, nobody else can see tomorrow. Double-bookings get discovered in the waiting room.

  • No-shows are absorbed, not measured

Nobody reminds the patient, and nobody counts the empty slot. The loss is real but invisible.

  • History is scattered

Last visit's notes are in one notebook, the lab result is on a phone, and the prescription was written from memory.

  • The doctor is the front desk

Scheduling messages arrive during consultations, and answering them is nobody's job — so it becomes the doctor's.

Reminders that patients actually read

The reminder goes out whether or not anyone remembers to send it.

Every confirmed appointment schedules its own WhatsApp message, with SMS as the fallback when WhatsApp doesn't deliver. Patients reply in the thread they already use — a single digit confirms, another asks to move the appointment — and the clinic calendar updates itself.

  • Reply-to-confirm and reply-to-reschedule
  • SMS fallback on non-delivery
  • Message timing set per clinic, not per patient

Everything the front desk would have done

A practice system that fits in an afternoon.

Seven things, done properly, in the language and direction your patients already read.

Arabic-first booking page

A link you can put in a WhatsApp bio or on a clinic sign. Right-to-left layout, Arabic weekday and time formatting, and no app for the patient to install.

WhatsApp and SMS reminders

Automatic, scheduled per clinic, with SMS fallback. Patients confirm or ask to move the appointment by replying — the calendar updates without a phone call.

Structured patient chart

Complaint, findings, diagnosis, and plan in fields rather than free-floating paper — with the full visit history in one scroll, in Arabic.

Prescription and referral printing

Print on your own letterhead in one click, with the medication list carried over from the visit note so nothing is transcribed twice.

Multi-doctor and room scheduling

One day view across every practitioner and treatment room, so the polyclinic stops negotiating chairs in the corridor.

Daily revenue and visit reporting

What was booked, what was seen, what was collected — closed out at the end of the day instead of reconstructed at the end of the month.

Offline-tolerant mode

Keep booking and charting through a connection drop; changes sync when the line comes back.

Your data stays yours

Export patients, visits and appointments to a spreadsheet whenever you want. No lock-in clause.

Waiting-list fill

When an appointment is cancelled, the slot is offered to the waiting list before it goes empty.

Bilingual interface

Arabic and English share one account — staff switch language and the layout mirrors with it.

Inside the product

Built right-to-left, not translated into it.

Arabic isn't a language pack bolted onto an English layout. The chart, the calendar, the printed prescription and the reminder all read in the direction your staff and patients read.

How it works

An afternoon, not a project.

No servers, no IT contractor, no migration consultant. If you can set up a WhatsApp Business account, you can set up Mawid Desk.

  1. Step one

    Describe the clinic

Practitioners, working hours, visit types and how long each one takes. Ten minutes of typing.

  2. Step two

    Share your booking link

Put it in your WhatsApp profile, on the clinic sign, or in a printed appointment card. Patients book without calling.

  3. Step three

    Turn on reminders

Choose when the message goes out and what it says. Everything after that is automatic.

  4. Step four

    Chart as you go

Open the visit, fill the fields, print the prescription. Yesterday's history is one tap away.

Early access

We'd rather show you the numbers than describe them.

Mawid Desk is early. Rather than borrow someone else's statistics, this is the scoreboard we intend to publish here — clinics live, appointments booked per month, and no-show reduction measured against each clinic's own first month, not against an industry average.

Until those numbers exist, they stay blank. The product is being built with the people who open these practices: An-Najah's medical, dental and pharmacy graduates are the founder's own cohort, and the first design-partner clinics are being chosen from it.

Clinics live

Practices with at least one appointment in the last 30 days. Published once the first cohort is running.

Appointments booked per month

Counted across all clinics, updated monthly, free tier included.

No-show reduction

Each clinic compared against its own pre-reminder baseline. No figure will appear here until the sample is large enough to mean something.

This space is reserved for the first clinic that runs a full month on Mawid Desk — in their words, with their name on it.

Questions

The things clinics ask first.

If yours isn't here, write to us — a person answers.

What does "Arabic-first" actually mean?

The interface, the booking page, the reminder messages and the printed prescription are designed right-to-left from the start — Arabic names sort correctly, dates and times format the way your staff writes them, and mixed Arabic-English fields (drug names, file numbers) don't break the layout. English is available in the same account; switching language mirrors the layout with it.

What happens when the internet drops?

The clinic keeps working. Booking, charting and check-in continue against a local copy, the screen tells staff plainly that changes are held locally, and everything syncs when the connection returns. Reminders queued during an outage go out once the line is back.

Do we need a WhatsApp Business account?

For WhatsApp reminders, yes — we walk you through connecting one during setup. If you'd rather not, SMS reminders work on their own and are included on every tier, including free.

Can we move our existing patients in?

Yes. Import from a spreadsheet, or start with the patients who walk in this week and let the record build itself. Most single-doctor practices are running on real data within the first few days.

Who owns the clinic's data?

You do. Patients, visits, appointments and revenue records can be exported to a spreadsheet at any time, on any tier. If you leave, you leave with your records — and we will tell you plainly what we do and don't store rather than hiding it behind a badge.

Is Mawid Desk a medical device or a diagnostic tool?

No. It is practice administration software: scheduling, records, reminders, printing and reporting. It does not make clinical decisions, and clinical judgment as well as compliance with your local health authority's requirements remain the practitioner's responsibility.
